Week 13 - Jujuy

June 30, 2014

I have had a pretty good week. On Tuesday we had zone exchanges. I stayed in my area and Elder Gutierrez stayed with me for the day. On Wednesday we changed again. This week at church we had a talent show night. It was fun. We didnt stay the whole time because we had to be back at 10. But everybody else stayed until about 1 in the morning. We sang the song, If you Could Hie to Kolob. Spanish people like that song a lot. After we sang it, President Millan (Branch Pres.) was like I dont know if any of you understood that song but it was talking about the mission and returning home with honor. haha it was really funny.

I forgot to tell you but last week on the way back from district meeting me and the 3 other elders got in a car accident...haha we were in a Remis and another car rear ended us. It broke the taillight and the bumper and only cracked a tiny part of the other car. It was right in front of a school when it got out so like 50 kids were just surrounding the cars. It was kind of weird. They were just staring at us while we were eating facturas.

It was really cold this week, I pretty much used my winter stuff all week. It rained for two days and it was cold so we were freezing. It also snowed in the mountains around us. They were all white.  So Argentina plays tomorrow at 1 and the U.S. play at 5. If they both win their games they will be playing against each other.. We will see how that will go...

Thats about all I have for this week. I was happy to hear from you. I hope that everything will be alright with Grandma W. I want her to be there when I get home. I hope you all have a great week. I love you all!

Week 12 - Jujuy

June 23, 2014

Hola!

You can send letters, I am still not sure about packages. You can try and send me another envelope package and we could see what happens. I dont know though.

I did get to see Andrews pictures of the graduation. It was so weird.

So nothing changed in the district. [They had transfers last week]. Everybody stayed which surprised us. We only had a few more changes. A elder came in from another zone that is from my group. He is now in my zone. Elder Cowen is his name.

The work is kind of slow. People are really committed to soccer and especially to all the big good teams that are playing in the World Cup. It is always exciting when Argentina plays. Almost every person is watching. I dont get to watch any of the games. Logan told me that his mission president lets the missionaries watch all of the Brazil games because no one is outside. I would love that!!!! haha Argentina plays again on Wednesday at 1 here.

We are trying to do a couple of different things to find new investigators and to have more lessons and more baptisms. It is kind of hard to find our investigators that are the closest to baptism. We are starting to work with a couple of people that are starting to progress pretty good.

I am excited for this new week. I am really thankful for all of the time I have had here and for all the time that the Lord gives me. I know that this His work. It is such a blessing that he gives us to help his children come unto him and be baptized into the restored church by someone who holds his authority. Tomorrow I hit 14 months but have a little over 9 months left on the mission. Time is coming to an end and it wont go slow.

I hope that you all have a great week, and that you help someone just come a little closer to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

I love you all and hope that you have a great eventful week. Have a good week in the summer while I am in the cold.

Cháu!

Week 11 - Jujuy

June 16, 2014

Hola!

So I got all of my letters. Thank you very much. Can you thank everybody for me?

Transfers came and my companion isnt leaving. This will be my 3rd transfer with him. This is the longest time I will have had with a companion.

So last week I got an email from Sis. Cran and she mentioned to me a couple things! They are STEPHANIE COE IS MARRIED AND JOSH IS ENGAGED! Oh my gosh!!!!! That is so weird!

I had a pretty good week. It was definitely interesting because the World Cup started this week! Tons of people watched the starting game of Brazil and Croacia. Lots of people were inside watching. We could really only contact people that were out on the streets. Last night Argentina played and the streets were completely empty! Argentina scored a goal within the first minute and a half of the game and when it happened we were walking out in the streets and all of the houses erupted with gggooooooooaaaaaaallllllllllll. There was a guy and his family that just pulled into a house in front of us. He and his family were getting out when everything erupted. His family members opened the door and were screaming goal and so the guy outside snatched up his kid and just burst inside the house. It was funny! There were fireworks and all. I am sure that it will be like that every time Argentina plays or some of the better teams like Brazil, Portugal, and the United States! VAMOS ARGENTINA Y ESTADOS UNIDOS! Woohooo!

I am excited to work more this new week and to try and better in my abilities.

I have a couple more questions.

So it was a good week. I am excited to start again. I hope you have a great week! I love you all!

Dad, Happy Fathers Day! I am really grateful for all the things you have done for me. You have been a great example and influence in my life. I am so happy that you are my father. I want to be a person just like you when I grow up. Well I think I can pull the looks off a little better than you did...but maybe all the other things. ;) I love you so much!

I love you all. Bye!

Week 10 - Jujuy

June 2, 2014

Hey!

So the weather here is changing. It is getting colder and cloudy. They say that it actually rains more in the summer than the winter. But they say that they usually get a little snow here during the winter. We dont have snow or anything yet. It hasnt rained for a couple weeks either.

Carolina was actually baptized when she was 8 years old. She just recently found out that her papers for the church got lost and so she had to get baptized again. But yeah she is pretty cool. I havent taught her that many times actually. Her husband is a recent convert and he was baptized within the last two years.

Wow, I didnt know that Sonya got married again. Tell Sonya hey and I miss her and love her.

So I had a pretty good week. I am trying to step up my game even more to do better. I want to have a lot of success and we have been given lots of ways do it with the Lords help. One ways is just making sure that i talk to more and more people. Trying to help them the best I can to bring them even closer unto Christ.

This week we have made buttermilk syrup twice, three German pancakes, and buttermilk pancakes on Sunday (somwhere around 10 pancakes each and there are four of us). We are all so in love right now.

A funny moment we had this week was me and my comp were in a lesson on Thursday with a recent convert. I was super tired and was falling asleep. He and my comp were talking about the world and how bad things were getting. Then I woke up from a little sleeping phase and I added in "yes, that is why we need the priesthood. It is really important. We wouldnt be able to use it to baptize and help the church without it just like my companion said". After that they were just laughing at me because it made no sense.

I am excited to start a new week. The Lord expects much of me and I want to be able to do even better than what i have been doing. I want to become better in every way.

Alright, I will send pictures!

I love you guys a lot and hope that you have a great week!

My birthday comes up this next coming week! 21 woohooo!

Bye,

Elder Dawson
